Your home office can be a haven of productivity. But if you live in a hectic household, noise can be an unwelcome distraction.

For sound reduction in the home, we often recommend replacing interior doors with ProCore® solid core doors. These doors add extra durability and the noise control needed to concentrate in loud environments.

However, this solution is not for everyone. Depending on the layout of your home, you may enjoy the additional natural light provided by having an open entrance to your home office. After all, some find natural light to be an important source of energy.

One solution is to install a French style door on your office entrance. French doors are panels that have glass throughout, so you gain some sound reduction and insulation without losing valued natural light. Though this isn’t as effective as installing a solid-core door for sound reduction, it is better than having no door at all, and adds some increased privacy as well.
